Where we are, and visiting the litter

246/68 Mater Complex, East School Block, I.P. Extension, New Delhi 110092. Come and meet the mother with the puppies before you decide. Insist on that wherever you buy in NCR — a seller who will not show you the mother is a reseller, and the puppy has usually travelled a long way already.

Which Poodle size for a Delhi flat?

Most NCR buyers are in apartments, and the honest answer is usually the Toy Poodle: 3 to 4 kg, sheds almost nothing, content indoors between short walks, and commonly lives fourteen or fifteen years. A Standard Poodle needs a house or a large flat with a park nearby and two real walks a day. Before choosing, check whether your society permits dogs — many NCR RWAs have rules — and whether there is a lift.

Delhi weather and a curly coat

Delhi runs from 45°C in June to single digits in January. In summer walk before 7am and after sunset, and test the pavement with your palm first. Ask your groomer for a shorter summer clip, never a shave — the coat protects against heat and sunburn. In the monsoon, dry ears and paws after every walk; ear infections are the most common Poodle vet visit in Delhi humidity. Winter is easy for this breed.

Grooming in NCR

A professional clip every six to eight weeks, for the dog’s whole life. Good groomers exist across South Delhi, Noida and Gurugram; budget for the visit before you buy the puppy, because it is the cost new Poodle owners consistently underestimate.

KCI papers

Our Poodle litters are registered with the Kennel Club of India. You also get the health record with vaccination and deworming dates. If you are told a Goldendoodle can be KCI registered, by us or anyone else, that is wrong — a Goldendoodle is a cross.

Which Poodle for which NCR home

The three Poodle sizes are the same breed with the same temperament. In Delhi NCR the choice comes down to your home and your daily routine more than anything about the dogs themselves.

Your situation What we would suggest
2BHK flat, both adults working Toy Poodle, and only with someone home part of the day
3BHK or builder floor, someone home Toy or Standard, depending on how much you walk
Independent house or farmhouse Standard Poodle — this is where they thrive
High-rise in Gurgaon or Noida Toy Poodle. A Standard in a high-rise needs a genuinely committed walker
Family with children under five Standard — sturdier than a Toy, which is fragile in small hands
First dog, older couple Toy Poodle — long-lived, manageable, deeply attached

If you want the rare dual-colour coat in either size, see our Parti Poodles.

The Delhi NCR year, month by month

A Poodle coat is high maintenance in any climate. NCR adds specific pressures at specific times, and knowing the calendar in advance makes it manageable.

When What changes
March–April Move to a shorter clip before the heat, not during it. Start early-morning walks.
May–June Peak heat. Walks before 7am and after 8pm only. Cooler or AC in the hottest hours. Never shave to the skin.
July–September Monsoon. Dry the coat fully after every wet walk, especially ears and paws.
October–January Air quality. Shorten walks on severe AQI days and do indoor training instead.
December–January Delhi cold is real for a short-clipped dog. Let the coat grow longer.
All year Ticks. NCR never gets cold enough for a die-off, so preventatives run twelve months.

Society and RWA rules in NCR

Worth settling before you buy rather than after. Rules on lift use, walking times and pet registration vary between societies in Gurgaon, Noida and Dwarka, and a Standard Poodle attracts more attention than a Toy.

The Animal Welfare Board of India’s position is that societies cannot impose a blanket ban on residents keeping pets. That said, arguing the point after you have brought a puppy home is a poor position to be in. Read your society’s rules, talk to your RWA, and if you are in a high-rise, factor lift timings into your walking routine.

Visiting us, and how handover works

We are in I.P. Extension, East Delhi — under an hour from most of NCR.

  1. Come and meet the litter with the mother. We would rather you did this than bought from photographs, and it is the single best protection any buyer has.
  2. Live video call if you cannot travel — the actual dogs, live, not clips.
  3. Eight weeks minimum. Nothing leaves earlier, whatever the request.
  4. You receive the vaccination card with dates, deworming record, vet health-check note, diet sheet, and KCI paperwork for registered litters.
  5. Delivery across Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad and Ghaziabad in person by us — never handed to a courier.

Buying a Poodle in Delhi: five things to insist on

  • Meet the mother. In person. This alone removes most of the risk in the NCR market.
  • Ask the parents’ adult weights. Miniatures sold as Toys is the most common misrepresentation here, and you find out at eight months.
  • Ask about health testing — knees for Toys, hips for Standards, eyes for both.
  • Read the records before paying.
  • Walk away from a “teacup”. It is not a size. It describes a dog bred deliberately below standard, and the health problems are real.
